How to use it
- Wash your hands well to avoid contaminating the disc with bacteria that can enter the vagina with it.
- Wash the disc under running water
- Find a comfortable position for insertion (with one foot raised, in the shower or over the toilet). Don’t worry, the size of the disc won’t be bigger than a tampon when inserted.
- Fold the disc lengthwise, positioning the ring part on the outside.
- Keep the disc folded by inserting it into the vagina a little at a time, as deep as possible under the cervix. When inserting, fold the disc towards the anus to make sure it is below the cervix. To avoid any leakage, urination sensation or discomfort, the disc should be pushed as deep as possible.
- Once inserted, you should insert a finger into the vagina to lift the side of the ring disc against the pubic bone and this will secure it to avoid leakage and it slipping in. Insert your index finger and push the disc towards the mons pubis or pubic area.
- Inserted correctly, the disc does not cause discomfort when worn, will not feel inside and will not interfere with the urethra. Can be worn for up to 12 hours depending on menstrual flow.
- The disc can self-release if pressure is put on the vaginal muscles during urination or defecation. So if you are on the toilet and experience this, it is normal, and we recommend positioning it back against the pubic bone without having to remove it (be careful however that your hands are washed). Self-grown is not possible without a strong contraction, so don’t worry about this happening by accident.
- When extracting you need to insert your finger to catch the ring arranged in the disc hole. If its position has changed rotate the disc with your finger until you find the part with the hole. If the disc is too deep and you can’t grasp it, push with your pelvic muscles and stand in the defecation position to push the disc towards the vulva. Pull the disc out gently without injuring the vaginal tissue.
- For emptying, we recommend sitting on top of the toilet or in the shower to empty the contents. After emptying, wash the disc under running water.
